Snow Day(s)!

2 weeks ago, we were iced in! It was CRAZY weather resulting in mass school closings and insanity leading right up to the Super Bowl that was here in Dallas. For me, I was banned from leaving the house. (Something about not being able to drive on ice and being pregnant and off balance...) Boo, Brian.

Anyhow, on Friday, when we initially thought all the madness would be coming to a close, the Lord laughed at our plans and dumped 7 inches of powdery snow on us.

So, about an inch of ice underneath 7 inches of snow. Tired of being cooped up, and Brian working from home for the day, we took a break from the inside toastiness and headed out to brave the wilds of the weather.

Goose particularly loved the snow. She was feeling quite feisty after so many days cooped up inside.

Brian forgot that there was at least an inch of ice underneath all of that snow. He went down (for the first time) right as we were coming out of the house. I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard!

We tried to sled down a hill next to our house, but soon learned that while powdery snow is great for skiing, tupperware box tops get wedged underneath it, and proper sledding equipment is required... So, we just walked around the winter wonderland for a bit, letting Goose get out some of her energy.

My handsome sweetie!

The next day the weather thawed enough for most people to get to my Dallas baby shower, but I'm sad this weather meant my mommy, Gran and Brian's mom couldn't make it in...

Sidenote: It was a hard-fought battle to get my jacket to zip over my belly...

...But we did it!!
