You're Killing Me, Smalls!!

Anyone catch that reference??

Anyhoo, can I ask you a favor? Can you please be in prayer for me today?

Do you ever come across projects that seem cursed? I'm working on one of those right now. Here's the list of issues we've had so far:

1) Can't obtain files from original designer, must pay to recreate
2) Client identifies an ultimate deadline one week away with several proofs still to go, not to mention printing
3) New designer uploads files with errors, then goes on vacation; must pay NEW designer to change issues that other new designer created
4) Printer fails to email notifying me that project has shipped, so I was unable to get new shipping address on 4,000 catalogs
5) UPS says they can intercept, and in fact, they fail to do so
6) Printer supposed to overnight one sample copy to me sends to address in San Antonio (???)
7) To create 160 copies of catalog for conference tomorrow with a local printer, plus overnight shipping totals $1500

Needless to say, my nerves are shot. In the grand scheme of things, I'm sure I'll look back on this and laugh, but right now, I'm NOT LAUGHING. I'm in fact very close to crying.

Please pray that I will rely on God, even in these day-to-day mundane tasks. (Obviously, I can't handle them on my own!!) Please pray that God will give me a peace today, even as projects crumble around me. Please pray that I don't take my frustration out on my sweet husband who is working from home today.

I just noticed...

So I just noticed that it's been 10 days since I last posted-- bad me! I try to blog regularly- at least once a week, and the fact is, I just haven't really had anything to say!

We've been doing well- went BACK to the lake for Easter with my grandparents, and had fun getting to spend some one-on-one time with them. It felt like one big double date weekend! On Friday night, they treated us to dinner at the Treehouse Bistro in Kingsland. It's pretty new, and attached to some winery that we've never been to. The jalapeno lobster bisque was amazing, but the roasted game hen was just average.

Then on Saturday, it was incredibly rainy and overcast-- not your perfect lake weekend. So we did what you do when there's nothing to do... I read and slept. Then that evening, we went with Gran and Grandad to Austin. The highlight of the hour trip there was Grandad trying to figure out the navigation system in his new vehicle while Brian drove. Fun times. :-)

We ate at a place called the Roaring Fork, and my, it was really tasty!! We had fried avacado topped with crab for an appetizer, and then I had jumbo jalapeno shrimp enchiladas with spinich and portabello mushrooms. Oh, yum!! Gran and Grandad had tickets to see Leo Kotke (?) so we left them and went to a movie. I got a call about 3/4 through the movie; apparently, Leo Kotke was not so awesome, and they left the show early. We met them back at the restaurant for dessert, and found out they had been wondering 6th Street in Austin in our absence. Hmmm.

This past week has gone by pretty fast- lots of stuff developing on the business side for us that I'm anxious to share with you, but need to wait until we're ready to "take it public" since this isn't a invite-only blog.

Tonight is my friend Melissa's wedding shower-- please keep us hostesses in your prayers! We were thinking we would have people spread out throughout the host home and onto their patio for a luau- theme, however, it's raining here! So everyone will be inside!! We'll be cozy for sure!! I'll post pictures next week.

Side note-- I had a girls' night with some pals last night, and I'm so grateful for good friends. I feel incredibly blessed to have friends who I can be open and authentic with, who are always up for some ice cream, a good movie, and a glass of wine. Yummo!

Pray NOW!!!

Hello all-

Update on sweet baby Grayson who I mentioned in this post- click to read.

I do not know a lot of details, but here's the gist. Apparently, the surgery went moderately well, though not as well as the surgeons had hoped. Grayson has been recovering in PICU, and this past week has suffered several serious complications. He had a lung collapse, and there was some pressure on his heart that caused another hole to be created.

The family (Anna- mom, and Dane- dad) were at home this afternoon when the hospital called and told them to come immediately.

Please be in prayer for this sweet family who are facing terrible tribulations and heartache tonight. Please pray for the doctors' wisdom and skill, and above all, a peace to surround Anna and Dane, no matter what God's will should be.

Thank you all!
