It's what we all want, right? We want so desperately for everything to work out, for the story to end happily. The beautiful thing is, the story always DOES end how it's supposed to, we just sometimes don't see it. Our happy ending isn't always defined the way that God defines it. He does, after all, know best...
I have to tell a story today. Because there's been a happy ending, and I want to celebrate that.
There once was a beautiful little girl, and she was happy and talented, and was growing into a gorgeous young lady. She didn't always understand why things happened the way they did, but she was blessed to lead a life full of wonderful people and happy days.
She met many a frog (who might be princes to other girls, but not her...) along the way, and was deceived by some. It was a hard road. Challenges came in all forms, battling against her, and the sweet Lord took from her it seemed more than He gave.
It was hard, and there were bad days. Yet her God was simply preparing her heart, her tender heart, for what was to come. On the day he arrived, this now-grown woman knew her happy ending was right around the corner, for she could see her future in his eyes.
Tomorrow they marry, joined in a holy union blessed and held together by their love of God, who never let go.
This is it- the happy ending. I write this here, because I want you to know how excited I am for you, and how truly brokenhearted I am that I won't be there to see you exchange vows. I know it's the best way for you both, and I'm so happy you've chosen what's best for YOU, and we'll be there in spirit.
We'll be here- I'll be here- and I'll never let go. I love you, and I'm so proud of you!!
