Yeah! Blogging!!

I'm so excited to have a blog! (Brian is going to be SOOOO proud.) When he found out that our friend Ashly had a blog, he could not have been MORE impressed. I will say that he's probably going to be disappointed that I just created a blog and didn't ask him what site he thought I should use or for any other blogging advice...

So we just moved into our new house in Plano, and I'm already in love with being closer to everything. The new house is about 10-15 miles closer to the store than our home in McKinney, and even though we can't use highways on the commute, it still feels so much closer. AND, we're closer to a lot of our friends. We are really sad to be moving further from our McKinney friends, church and Sicily's Italian Restaurant (so good, and SOOO cheap!)

We made the decision awhile ago that even if we moved really far away, (which it turns out we haven't), we would keep attending church at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church. It took a really long time to find a church that we both liked, and even longer for us to feel "connected" to people within the church. Now, we have a close network of friends there, and we wouldn't dream of leaving. Not only the actual church, but our Life Group has been an amazing blessing. I've never been involved with a small group before, and while I didn't know what to expect, I've got so much out of knowing these people. Brian has to, even though it took him longer to warm up (what can I say- guys are less emotional and open!)

So the new house is great, even though it needs quite a few repairs (thanks to the last residents.) Even though we are just renting the house now, we feel like it's a home we would eventually like to buy. Even if that doesn't come to fruition, we are going to treat this home like it's our own. What I mean is, God has blessed us with this home, and we are taking ownership and responsibility for it. So, we'll be good stewards, and hopefully down the road God will grow those blessings.
