I'm a Cake Ball-ah!

Get it?!?! Cake "ball-ah", as in gangster, except not...?? Anyways... I've spent the last week stressing over the intricacies of cake balls for Brooke's upcoming shower this weekend. Let me just say this: the recipe I had SUCKED. It told me to mix a WARM cake and icing to create the ball mixture. Um, wrong-o! This basically reverted the cooked cake back to dough. Nasty. No one wants to eat cake dough dipped in coating. No one wants to wonder if they are about to contract salmonella from a shower treat. Ugh.

So, needless to say, last night, we tried again, with a different technique that I will detail later.

SO MUCH BETTER! Lemon cake balls rock my world!

And, friends rock my world. I feel so blessed to not only have Brooke here, but to also have several buds who don't even know Brooke offering to help me prep for her shower. Thank you, wonderful ladies!

Ice Cream Conquers All

I was having a truly wonderful day. I got some potentially great news (prayers for clarity needed there, BTW), had a great lunch watching Make It or Break It online (which is truly a cinematic masterpiece for the ages...) and then BAMMM! Bad day smacked right in my face. You don't need to know all the nitty-gritty, except to say that one very snarky attorney (who shall remain nameless, you know, for legal reasons) is a jerk-face.

I had to take some stuff to the post office which happens to be right next door to a Sonic (next door, down the street, whatever. So I drove to get there. Don't judge me.) For only $1.08 (including tax), they deliver happiness and cheer directly to your car. Goose, along for the ride, particularly enjoyed the treat, and all is right with the world again... ;-)

Going Shabby Sheek

As you can tell, I've gone Shabby Sheek... While this is a fairly dated design term, I've noticed that I'm drawn to the sort of look lately that cannot be described any other way...

Goodbye, Asian Chic! Hello Shabby Sheek! (Speaking of shabby, you can get FREE blog design templates over here at Shabby Blogs. Which is, in fact, where I got mine!)

AND, I was not only inspired by my friend Christy to change my look after over a year in the red Asian design, but to also attempt a header design. Very plain, but it makes me happy that it's not the same ole thing I've been looking at for a year or so...

Sooo.... thoughts?????
